Rain on the Lotus Pond

Interactive Raindrop & Lily Pad Percussion Playground

Listen to raindrops patter on floating lily pads, overhanging canopy leaves, and tranquil water. Each lily leaf is a natural drum whose pitch and timbre depend on its size and the speed of impact.

How to Play Rain on the Lotus Pond

🪷 Lily Pad Drums & Sizing

  • Size Controls Pitch: Larger lily pads resonate with deeper, warmer drum tones; smaller leaves produce higher, crisper pitches. Hover over any lily pad and scroll your trackpad/wheel (or press [ and ]) to resize it live!
  • Impact Velocity: Fast, heavy raindrops (or canopy drips) strike with bright forte energy; light mist creates soft ghost notes.
  • Move & Arrange: Drag any lily pad across the pond to change its stereo position and catch falling rain streams. Double-click empty water to sprout a new leaf!

🌧️ Magic Wand, Bouncing Drops & Gestures

  • 🪄 Magic Rain Wand (W) & Attraction Slider: Pulls falling raindrops toward your cursor into a concentrated stream! Increase Wand Attraction to focus rain into a tight beam for playing rapid drum rolls across lily pads; toggle OFF for natural global wind slant.
  • 💧 Lotus Bounce (B): Raindrops bead up and bounce elastically on lotus leaves—creating quick rhythmic double-taps, flams, and cross-leaf polyrhythms!
  • Umbrella Shield (Shift or U): Projects a curved shield above your cursor—raindrops bounce off it and scatter onto nearby lily pads!
  • Swirl Cloudburst: Swirl in circles to gather raindrops into a floating vortex, then release to drop a polyrhythmic cascade.
